New artwork by Adébayo Bolaji at Bollo Brook Youth Centre

London Based artist Adébayo Bolaji who has exhibited internationally from  London, Europe to New York recently visited his former neighborhood of South Acton/Acton Gardens.  Adé is the selected artist currently working on a sculpture called the People's Thrown which will be the focal point for the new Central Plaza which is at the heart of the development at Acton Garden. The People's Thrown will be unveiled to the community later this year as part of the grand opening of Central Park.

Adé has been keen to involve with the local community at Acton Gardens, not only via planned workshops to inform the statue but also through some pop-up art sessions where he can paint in different environments and engage local people in the process.  He recently visited Bollo Brook Youth Centre where he found a space to paint the above piece.  It was a hot summer's day and the Centre had a  busy flow of young people and varying activities going on from which Adé drew his inspiration from.

To further develop his engagement with the local Community, we will be hosting a Q&A  and art workshop with Adé on  Wednesday 19th July, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm, Acton Garden Community Centre. For more information, please email us at Y@lqgroup.org.uk.
