London Borough of Ealing: Your Voice, Your Town
What is Your Voice, Your Town about?
Your Voice, Your Town asks local people to be involved in the decisions that are made about where they live and take the lead in making that change happen. By teaming up with the local community, Your Voice, Your Town aims to make a difference to each of the 7 towns that make up the London Brough of Ealing.
This year, a total of £480,000 in council funding has been allocated across the seven towns for projects that support the priorities chosen by local people. Acton Town has a minimum of £80,000 towards its chosen priority of a Clean and Pleasant Area. This means the allocation of funding, resources, and local expertise of residents’, the council and partners will support projects and initiatives towards their chosen priority.
Each town now has 1 priority that will be the focus for community-led projects:
- Acton – clean and pleasant area
- Ealing – feeling safe
- Greenford – clean and pleasant area
- Hanwell – feeling safe
- Northolt – clean and pleasant area
- Perivale – clean and pleasant area
- Southall – clean and pleasant area
What is the Town Team currently doing?
The Acton Town Team currently consist of just under 15 members and have been meeting and organising since July to prepare to launch their community fund grant this autumn. There is space for more residents, faith group representatives and business owners particularly from the North Acton, Park Royal and Bedford Park areas to join the team as there is a desire from the team to reflect the different neighbourhoods and communities of the town. We welcome members that are young parents, that speak English as a second language and young people between the age 16 - 30.
