Over 55's Afternoon Tea, Bingo & Arts and Crafts

On Thursday 25th July The Community Centre was alive with the sound of Acton Gardens residents over the age of 55.

The fun started when mini buses arrived at various pick up points to transport residents to the venue a short drive away. It was a relief to enter the cool hall in the Community Centre following the recent spell of hot weather.

The event kicked of with the bingo entertainer encouraging all participants to have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon playing bingo. This was accompanied by high tea, festoons of balloons and prettily adorned tables.

The afternoon involved playing bingo, winning prizes and generally having a good time. This was followed by a sumptuous high tea of finger sandwiches, a variety of cupcakes/ deserts and refreshments. The energetic residents were keen to participate in the next planned activity. This was flower arranging in bone china cups which residents took home with them- Even some men participated! . The afternoon concluded at 4.30pm with the summer sun still high and the tired residents being dropped home by the mini bus.
